Mortenson is seeking a Construction Commissioning Manager I and IIĀ to join our Solar group to drive and lead project construction and contract administration activities, focusing on successful commissioning, and actively engaging in the delivery of larger, more complex assignments, while planning and conducting work that requires independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting commissioning techniques, procedures, and criteria.Ā

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ
- Perform scope of work technical reviews and provide detailed comments and recommendationsĀ
- Develop commissioning specifications and create commissioning plans, checklists, and tests for collection and control systemsĀ
- Lead field visits, observe commissioning inspections and tests, and provide technical guidanceĀ
- Direct functional performance tests in the field, including creating the projectās commissioning plan and scheduleĀ
- Draft technical documents for issue resolutions, lessons learned, and best practices; write issue descriptions, meeting minutes, field reports, and final reportsĀ
- Conduct training sessions, communicate across disciplines for construction coordination, and resolve commissioning issues with contractorsĀ
- Collaborate with the scope team and Project Manager to verify scope intent and criteria; develop and maintain collaborative relationshipsĀ
- Lead planning and execution of system tests, including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems; effectively lead internal meetings and manage team performanceĀ

QUALIFICATIONSĀ
- Bachelorās degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 10 years of equivalent field experienceĀ
- Minimum six years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firmĀ
- Conceptual knowledge of key construction documents and their relationship to Project Management and Field ExecutionsĀ
- Excellent communication and client relationship skillsĀ
- Expert understanding of how design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and turnover align within the project delivery processĀ
- Experience with key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)Ā
- Understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and interaction testing and turnover requirementsĀ
- Understanding of applicable design codes, design standards, and specification requirements, and ability to interpret themĀ
- Proficiency in the commissioning process, L0-L5, and ability to relate construction deliverables to commissioning deliverablesĀ
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project management, and pertinent web applications; strong understanding of data-based commissioning tools like BIM360Ā
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsĀ
- Ability to work well in a team environment, including follow-through and constructive feedbackĀ
- Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and project partnersĀ
- Ability to anticipate project work, delegate workload, and balance workload within a teamĀ
- Ability to evaluate risk, schedule impact, and safety for quality and commissioning-related activitiesĀ

- The base pay range for this role is $125,600 - $188,400Ā

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum seven years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firmĀ
- The base pay range for this role is $144,300 - $216,500

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL ā 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR ā 10%, Washington, D.C. ā 12.5%).Ā
Ā Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individualās knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.Ā This position is eligible for Mortensonās incentive plan.
