Description

Know how to find the problem when everyone else is scratching their head? We should talk.

At Midwest Compressor Systems, we're looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, solving problems, and keeping critical equipment running.

This isn't a position where you'll spend every day doing the same thing.

One day you may be troubleshooting a control panel. The next you're diagnosing a VFD issue on an electric compressor package, tracking down a shutdown problem, replacing instrumentation, or helping commission a new compressor package.

If you understand electricity, controls, instrumentation—and aren't afraid to troubleshoot—we want to meet you.

You're Probably a Great Fit If...

  • You're the technician who doesn't just replace parts—you want to understand why something failed.
  • You can look at a schematic, grab your meter, work through the system logically, and find the problem.

Experience with any combination of the following is valuable:

Electrical | Instrumentation | PLCs |  VFDs | Electric Motors | Control Panels | SCADA | Automation | Natural Gas Compression

Oil & gas or natural gas compression experience is strongly preferred, but we're also interested in experienced I&E technicians coming from industrial, manufacturing, automation, or similar environments.

If you're looking for a place where your technical knowledge matters, where you'll have opportunities to solve challenging problems, and where you can continue developing your skills, we'd like to talk with you.

Requirements

What You'll Need

A high school diploma or GED, previous electrical/instrumentation/controls experience, strong troubleshooting ability, a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, and the ability to travel to customer locations as needed.

Because this position operates company vehicles, candidates must also meet Midwest's company vehicle and insurance eligibility requirements.

What We're Looking for Beyond Technical Skills

Technical ability matters—but so does how you show up.  We want people who:

Take ownership.
If there's a problem, help solve it.

Communicate.
Customers and teammates shouldn't have to wonder what's happening.

Do quality work.
Fix the problem—not just the symptom.

Keep learning.
Technology and equipment continue to change, and so should we.

Take care of the customer.
Our customers depend on their equipment. They depend on us, too.
