Job DetailsJob Location: Sharks Tooth - Panama City Beach, FL 32413Position Type: Full Time Job Summary   The role of Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the ornamental plants by propagating plant materials for ornamental use around buildings, parking lots, and other areas. Additionally, the role of Landscaper is responsible for mowing, trimming, and pruning as needed while also assisting the Lead Landscaper and Superintendent as directed. Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls Rake, mulch, pull weeds and prune the grounds as needed Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others Sweep walkway of debris Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger Install and maintain lawn furniture and other outdoor fixtures, such as rock, cement, lighting, and water features Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties, including routine tasks such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other general maintenance as needed All other duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.  Ability to read write and speak, and communicate in basic English preferred  Previous experience in a similar position preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Detail oriented and thorough  Ability to perform consistent work to the highest standards  Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests  Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way  Ability to read, write and speak and communicate in basic English Ability to communicate with guests in a professional manner   Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely and properly Excellent organization skills Working knowledge of horticulture Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Basic working knowledge of maintenance equipment Physical Demands Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during shift  Must be able to withstand frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and walking  Must be able to lift 50 pounds Working Conditions Primarily outdoor Exposure to sun, heat, cold, and weather Exposure to hazardous chemicals and dangerous equipment (with PPE) The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.  The St. Joe Company/St. Joe Resort Operations reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs.
