Job DetailsJob Location: Hotel Indigo - Panama City, FL 32401Position Type: Full Time Job Summary   The Night Audit position checks the front office accounting records for accuracy and, daily, summarizes and complies information for the hotel’s financial records. This position is also responsible for tracking room revenue, occupancy percentages and other front office operating statistics. Additionally, the Night Audit is expected to prepare a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel’s financial performance for the day. This position is also responsible for posting room charges and room taxes to guest’s accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day by the front office cashier. Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions Posts room charges and taxes to guest’s accounts Processes guest charges voucher and credit card vouchers Post charges to the guest accounts that have not been posted or were incurred on the night audit shift Verify all account postings and balances Verify that room rates are correct and posts those rates to guest accounts Understand principles of auditing, balancing, and losing out accounts Balance the day’s charges, making corrections as necessary Run end of day process in property management software (PMS) Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities Summarizes results of operations for management Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, and record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information Serve as a front desk agent especially in terms of check-in and check-out procedures Respond to guest needs, special requests and complaints and alert the appropriate manager as needed Maintain complete knowledge of emergency procedures All other duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English Previously hospitality experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Detail-oriented and thorough Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly manner Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers, both in person and by telephone Strong customer service skills Knowledge of hospitality operations Basic Accounting skills and ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations Skilled at resolving challenges efficiently and effectively Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department Physical Demands Ability to stand and move throughout front office and lobby while continuously performing essential job functions Ability to lift to 25 lbs Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, and walking Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling Working Conditions  Primarily located indoors but can be exposed to outside weather conditions Occasionally exposed to high volume places Minimal to moderate noise levers consistent with hotel environment May be exposed to cleaning chemicals (proper PPE provided) Shift work is required, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.  The St. Joe Company/St. Joe Resort Operations reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs.
