Job DetailsJob Location: Johnson Co General - Olathe, KS 66062Are you driven by a passion to help others?  Are you someone who can provide advocacy and support to individuals served in learning social and self-care skills? If yes, Lakemary is looking for a Health Service Specialist for our Adults Health Service Program.  This position is responsible for the transporting of persons served to medical appointments and advocating and communicating the persons needs to the community provider as well as assisting in the Health Service office to help facilitate and efficient and effective environment.  This role functions under general supervision of a Nurse Practitioner.  Health Service Specialist Responsibilities: Assists with transporting individuals served to appointments, communicating and advocating for the person as well as assisting with procedures as needed. Remains attentive and a positive representative of Health Services and Lakemary Center throughout the health appointment. Obtains necessary medical documentation and forms to assist community providers with care of individuals served. Submit documentation from appointments and assist in the implementation, follow-up and communication of data to appropriate personnel. Provide direct care to individuals served as assigned by supervisor and assist in the clinic area with minor procedures and diagnostic testing as needed. Assists with maintaining calendars and schedules and routes appointment information to the appropriate areas; coordinates transportation needs for the schedule.  Maintains a working relationship with the community providers worked with. An ideal candidate for this position has:  Knowledge of: The operation of office equipment, personal computers and communications systems Standard formats for letters, memos and reports Ability to: Obtain and maintain requirements for LMC Drivers license Be able to continually qualify for drive LMC KDOT vehicles Establish and maintain effective working relationships Enter information in a variety of formats Obtain and maintain LMC authorized medication, certification, Mandt, First Aid and CPR Record, file and transmit information Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Health Service Specialist Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent 6 months experience working with MR/DD population. Valid Drivers license and good driving skills. Due to Insurance criteria be at least at least 21+ years of age.
