A Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout all Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) casinos and related facilities. This role performs a wide range of custodial duties, including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, sweeping, disposing of trash, replacing trash bags, cleaning ashtrays, restrooms, table games, slot machines, windows, mirrors, walls, doors, carpets, and furnishings, while excluding sensitive gaming areas such as the Cage, Card and Dice Room, Bingo Paper Room, and gaming employee offices. Custodians are expected to consistently follow LDC’s Core Values, policies, and procedures, serve as positive role models, maintain professional and respectful relationships with guests and coworkers, and report to work on time prepared to perform assigned duties. They must adhere to all safety standards, promptly report injuries, hazards, or equipment repair needs, maintain knowledge of cleaning solutions and equipment maintenance, and ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and hazard-free. The position also requires building strong guest relationships through friendly, professional interactions, providing accurate information about casino amenities, promotions, and events, and participating in meetings, workshops, and training activities to support custodial operations.

The Custodian works collaboratively as part of a team, assisting coworkers, supporting a positive work environment, mentoring custodial and heavy-duty cleaners, and utilizing a buddy system during training. The role requires flexibility to work under pressure, maintain regular attendance, and work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional hours as needed. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, although no licensing or certification is required. Custodians operate cleaning equipment including carpet extractors, spot extractors, wet/dry vacuums, and chariot vacuums. The position is physically demanding, requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, twisting, and repetitive hand use, along with regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally handling loads exceeding 50 pounds. The role also requires basic decision-making, problem-solving, organization, reading, and writing skills. The work is performed primarily indoors with exposure to loud noises and cleaning-related fumes. This non-exempt position has no supervisory responsibilities and requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
