This position also provides direct supervision and leadership to grocery department staff, including employee scheduling, training, performance management, disciplinary actions, and recommendations regarding hiring and termination. The Grocery Manager ensures all employees receive proper training and supervision and oversees the correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, rotation, and display of merchandise. Additional responsibilities include participating in the LDC Management Capacity Program and annual Management Development Leadership Series (MDLS), working flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, and providing guests with accurate information regarding services, promotions, amenities, and special events. Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, two to three years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership ability, and the ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification. The role requires basic computer, cash register, reading, and writing skills; the physical ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and lift or move up to 50 pounds; strong problem-solving, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills; and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, background check, and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license.
