JOB SUMMARY

The Loan Assistant is responsible for assisting customers with general loan-related questions. Under the supervision and guidance of the Loan Operations Manager, the position will provide support for the Loan Officers by processing loans, taking applications, and assisting Loan Officers when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

•Process loans and assist loan officers.
•Answer questions and phone calls when needed.
•Scan documents and check on loan files.
•Complete loans in accordance with state and federal regulations.
•Complete back office loan operations duties.
•Deliver exceptional customer service by displaying sincere, outgoing friendliness.
•Verify the accuracy and completeness of all loan applications.
•Order credit reports, NADA valuations, flood determinations, appraisals, and title searches.
•Prepare and provide all security documents for loan closings.
•Process loan cancellations and/or adverse action notices.
•Prepare loan renewal and extension requests.
•Prepare and provide loan disclosures, as necessary.
•Assemble and compile documents for loan closings.
•Submit loan applications with recommendations for underwriting approval.
•Record applications for loan information and disbursements of funds.
•Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
•Comply with company policies and procedures.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

•Knowledge of principles of lending and loan compliance.
•Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
•Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files, and records.
•Knowledge of state and federal loan requirements and regulations.
•In-depth knowledge of products and services, including digital services and delivery options.
•Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.
•Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills.
•The ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
•Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
•Sense of discretion and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent and sensitive information.
•The ability to maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all teammates to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Loan Assistant interacts with lending staff and other team members and will frequently interact with customers.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

•A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
•A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting is preferred.
•Previous banking or customer service experience is a plus.
•Living in the Paris area or local surrounding area is a plus.
•A valid driver's license and the ability to be covered under the company insurance policy is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are regularly performed in an office environment. The work environment is usually a well-lighted environmentally controlled indoor environment with a low level of noise. The work pace can vary but may be fast when meeting deadlines or handling several loan applications at one time. This position is typically scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but work hours may vary depending on operational activities. Evening work and overtime may be occasionally required to complete work and meet deadlines. Travel and work outside of the office environment may be occasionally required.
