Loan Assistant

 

Basic Function:



Responsible for interacting with the customer to obtain information necessary to accurately document the loan transaction the customer has requested, evaluate the completeness and accuracy of the documentation, close the loan and ultimately fund the transaction.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:



  1. Assist the lender with completing appropriate loan approval documentation.
  2. Request and follow-up on credit and collateral information required of customer to document, close and fund the loan.
  3. Obtain current credit bureau report.
  4. Order UCC searches.
  5. Order Flood Certificates.
  6. Request preparation of early loan disclosures.
  7. Contact appropriate title company to open title.
  8. Contact appropriate attorney and advise order is forthcoming – transmit information sufficient to document the transaction, if necessary.
  9. Prepare appraisal engagement letter and forward appraisal order request or evaluation request to appropriate party.
  10. Request appraisal reviews when appropriate.
  11. Schedule loan closings.
  12. Ensure all pre-funding requirements and exception waivers are obtained, ensuring compliance with both pre and post funding requirements. 
  13. Review all executed loan documents to determine completeness and proper execution.
  14. Close and fund loans.
  15. Perform system audits of consumer loans as needed.
  16. Prepare and obtain signatures on loan extensions and modifications.
  17. Prepare and process loan advances for lines of credit and interim construction loans.
  18. Prepare credit notices for denials and withdrawals.
  19. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to loan documents as detailed in the Loan Policy.
  20. Ensure that all internal and external customer service calls are responded to in a timely and professional manner.
  21. Perform other duties as requested by management.
