What we’re looking for

The Registrar collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.

How you’ll contribute

Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered accurately and timely into the registration system
Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational materials to patients or family members
Meets with patients or caregivers before or after admission to exchange information, explain processes, and address questions or concerns
Communicates with physician offices, nursing units, and other staff to coordinate admissions and determine appropriate placement
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.

Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Education

High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred. 

Certifications

Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually
