What we’re looking for
The Registrar collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.

How you’ll contributeÂ
- Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered accurately and timely into the registration systemÂ
- Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational materials to patients or family membersÂ
- Meets with patients or caregivers before or after admission to exchange information, explain processes, and address questions or concernsÂ
- Communicates with physician offices, nursing units, and other staff to coordinate admissions and determine appropriate placementÂ
- Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.

- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgmentÂ
- Ability to work with minimal supervisionÂ
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Education
High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred. Â
Certifications
- Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annuallyÂ
