Woodward Park City is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patrol Assistant Manager to help lead daily patrol operations across our year-round mountain resort environment. This leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of our guests, athletes, and employees while supporting operational excellence across winter and summer activities.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Patrol and Risk, the Patrol Assistant Manager oversees staffing, scheduling, training, operational readiness, emergency response coordination, and risk management initiatives. This role provides direct leadership to the Patrol team members, supports employee development, and helps maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and exceptional service. This person will also act as a first responder as needed.

The ideal candidate is an experienced operational leader with a strong background in emergency response, risk management, patrol operations, or related recreational safety environments.

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily operations of the Patrol Department.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Patrol team members.
  • Manage staffing plans, schedules, and operational coverage.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training efforts.
  • Coordinate emergency response and incident management activities.
  • Promote compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Conduct operational reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with leaders across Operations, Facilities, Progression, and Talent & Culture.
  • Help ensure year-round readiness for both winter mountain operations and summer bike patrol activities.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in Patrol, Risk Management, Emergency Response, Mountain Operations, Athletic Training, Medical Response, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions in dynamic operating environments.
  • Experience managing staffing, training, employee performance, and day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to build positive relationships across departments and partner organizations.

Required Certifications & Skills

  • Must be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and CPR certified before employment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
  • Advanced mountain biking ability.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort level with technology driven scheduling, reporting, etc.
  • Ability to perform and lead ski lift evacuations and emergency response operations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions year-round.
