Deer Valley East Village is slated to become North America’s newest world-class alpine village since 1981. The base village includes the development of multiple ski lifts, seven hotels, an array of ski-in/ski-out homesites, a walkable retail and commercial zone, and day-skier parking and services. This reimagined resort village will set the new standard for excellence among the world’s alpine resorts. Summary Executive leadership role overseeing and managing Deer Valley East Village (“DVEV”); operating the world’s newest alpine luxury village. Operate and run all aspects of the newest luxury resort village at the base of Deer Valley including but not limited to: i) public safety and security, ii) homeowner associations compliance and operation, iii) village administration, budgeting, and policy implementation, iv) facilities and grounds operations and maintenance, v) procurement, management and operational execution of events and sponsorships in coordination with the marketing team, and overall guest experience, etc. Coordinate and work in conjunction with the marketing and chamber teams. Guide and develop the organizational structure while building your own management team as the development progresses and reaches critical mass.   Core responsibilities The Village General Manager is responsible for the guest experience and safety and is the central coordinator and manager for the day-to-day operations of Deer Valley East Village. Prior to the opening of the Village’s two anchor hotels, Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria, and the Village Skier Day Lodge, the general manager will: i) be the central bridge between development, construction, and leasing, ii) facilitate and operate the Mountain Master Association, iii) represent ownership’s vision in day-to-day decisions, iv) develop operational standards and governing processes along with the supporting organizational framework, v) lead and facilitate design and planning into operational phase, e.g., security, maintenance, and administrative efforts, vi) provide oversight, ensure compliance, and manage retail and commercial spaces build-outs, and vii) further cultivate the East Village’s vision including working in partnership with marketing to plan and execute village programming and activations. A natural transition will occur with the opening of the Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, and Day Lodge and the general manager’s role will shift from strategic planning, governance structure, and staffing to operations. It is anticipated the general manager’s responsibilities and focus will shift to: Management of village operations and infrastructure; incl. general maintenance, landscaping, security, snow removal, ice ribbon and amphitheater operations, vendor procurement and contract management, rubbish and trash management, etc. Oversight and management of both master HOAs; Mountain Master Association and Village Mountain Association; incl. HOA governance compliance, annual meetings and budgets, DRC oversight, and administration/dues collection Retail leasing and tenant coordination; incl. commercial administrative oversight, e.g., rent collection, administration, etc.  Curation of the Village’s guest experience inclusive of public safety and security Procurement and management of sponsorship and commercial partnerships in partnership with marketing Coordination with village marketing and chamber teams Establishing and ensuring a luxury experience with consistent village standards Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field required Extensive resort property management or local government experience Leadership experience in supervisory or managerial positions, ideally within resort property management, commercial and retail, or municipal settings Proactive community engagement; experience in community relations and affluent stakeholder engagement Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment Proficiency in budget preparation, financial management, and fiscal responsibility Strong analytical abilities to address complex issues and develop effective solutions Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public, staff, and elected officials Understanding and relating to specific challenges and opportunities facing the Village, Resort, State, MIDA, and surrounding communities, including tourism, marketing, safety, sustainability, and community development Benefits Competitive salary and performance bonuses Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and holidays Employee Assistance Program Extell is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
