Job Description
The Rehabilitation Assistant supports the Technician and Doctor in facilitating patient treatments such as acupuncture, laser, and underwater treadmill. They work under the direct supervision of the Rehabilitation Doctor and Technicians to provide care for a variety of patients that have chronic or acute injuries.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing treatment protocols prescribed by the specialist while under supervision.
  • Provide care for animals as needed pre-op and post-op per the Doctor.
  • Assist with radiographs, underwater treadmill, electronic stimulation, laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound and manual therapies and treatments as directed.
  • Restraining of animals as needed.
  • Contribute information to a patient’s medical record.
  • Facilitates consultations and client communications 
  • Maintain cleanliness of the sports medicine space.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed.
  • Works in other areas of the hospital as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least SIX MONTHS of experience as a veterinary assistant
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience as a veterinary assistant
  • Experience in a emergency/specialty setting
  • Knowledge of EasyVet or similar medical record systems.
