WVU Parkersburg is a Community and Technical College located in Parkersburg, WV along with Jackson County Center in Ripley, WV and Innovation Technology Center in Vienna, WV.  We are not a branch of West Virginia University.  We are dedicated to teaching and are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to offer certificates, associate and bachelor’s degrees.

Function/Summary

This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and conducting short term programs.  This position will also assist with networking, recruiting, compliance, and continuous quality improvement endeavors.  This position works variable times and locations.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in business or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

 

Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience working with business & industry, or related experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, instructors, employers, and internal team members
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset; ability to create a welcoming, supportive, and professional environment for diverse populations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion

Duties/Responsibilities

Training Program Development & Delivery – 65%

  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of short-term training programs in collaboration with instructors, internal departments, and external partners
  • Support the development and organization of program materials, schedules, and training plans in partnership with subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Assist instructors and SMEs in preparing for program delivery, including providing guidance on program expectations, student needs, and college processes
  • Facilitate program logistics, including scheduling, classroom or space coordination, materials preparation, and communication with students
  • Monitor program progress and provide ongoing support to ensure smooth delivery of programs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, including curriculum materials, student documentation, and training outcomes
  • Assist in evaluating program effectiveness by gathering feedback from students, instructors, and partners, and identifying opportunities for improvement\
  • Serve as a liaison between students, instructors, and external partners to address questions and resolve issues during program delivery


Administrative Tasks – 30%

  • Coordinate and manage scheduling for training programs, meetings, and events, including room reservations, instructor coordination, materials preparation, and enrollment tracking
  • Manage program communications, including coordinating logistics for meetings, events, and participant outreach
  • Process and track required documentation for instructors and trainers to ensure timely credentialing, onboarding, and compensation
  • Maintain and update program procedures and documentation to support consistent and efficient operations
  • Track program-related expenses and maintain accurate budget records
  • Collaborate with the Business Office to prepare, submit, and reconcile payment batches and financial documentation


General – 5%

  • Performs other duties as assigned
