Assistant Controller 

 

Legacy Health Services is seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented to join our finance department. This role is foundational to our accounting operations, providing essential support for the maintenance of accurate financial records and the integrity of our reporting systems. The ideal candidate will be a high-potential professional with a strong grasp of accounting principles and a commitment to operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the Senior Accountant in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Run and create Ad Hoc reports as necessary.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Controller in forecasting future cash flows and expenditures.
  • Cash Management: Assist the Controller with daily bank reporting, creating ACH/Wire payments, and compiling weekly check runs.
  • Audit & Compliance: Compile documentation and provide administrative support for internal and external audits, as well as tax preparation.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required).
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (utilizing complex formulas, Pivot Tables, and data analysis).
  • Professional Competency: A solid understanding of fundamental accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a corporate accounting or public accounting role.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Actively pursuing or intending to pursue a CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation.
