POSITION

The Manager/Sr. Manager, Commercial Operations will serve as a key business partner within the Commercial Operations function, reporting to the Sr. Director, Commercial Operations. This role will support the sales organization by providing sales analytics, field reporting, data driven insights, incentive compensation and territory alignment processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical expertise, sound business judgment, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations that support commercial execution and field effectiveness.

The level of position (Manager or Sr. Manager) will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall fit with the scope of the role. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field Sales Analytics & Reporting

  • Responsible for the development, enhancement, and governance of standardized sales reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators, call activity, customer engagement, and product performance.
  • Analyze sales trends, customer activity, market dynamics, and field performance to identify opportunities, risks, and recommended actions across territories, accounts, and products.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, Commercial Operations, Sales leadership, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver insights that guide data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and actionable distribution of sales performance metrics to field and headquarters stakeholders. 

 

Incentive Compensation Support

  • Partner with Sales leadership, Finance, Human Resources, and the Incentive Compensation Committee to support the design, administration, modeling, and ongoing evaluation of the sales incentive compensation program.
  • Establish and maintain quality-control processes for incentive compensation data, calculations, and outputs to ensure fairness, accuracy, transparency, and alignment with plan design.
  • Provide regular compensation reporting, payout modeling, performance tracking, and variance analysis; support development, distribution, and acknowledgment of Incentive Compensation Plans.
  • Prepare incentive plan documents and IC Committee materials that communicate plan procedures and guidelines.

 

Territory Alignments & Field Support

  • Manage sales territory alignment processes, including roster governance, territory assignments, account ownership changes, hierarchy updates, and field communication support.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership and Human Resources to ensure alignment data is current, accurate, and consistently reflected across CRM, reporting, compensation, and downstream systems.
  • Provide analytical leadership and project coordination during field realignments, product launches, organizational changes, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Maintain master data and business rules related to territory structures, customer assignments, and field hierarchies.

 

Data Management & Systems

  • Manage data inputs and quality controls across multiple internal and external sources, ensuring integration accuracy, consistency, and usability across CRM, reporting, and analytics platforms.
  • Support the Sr. Director, Commercial Operations in optimizing CRM tools, sales operations workflows, reporting processes, and data management practices that improve field execution and leadership visibility.

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to convert sales, customer, and market data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts, etc.) and strong working knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to data integrity, and experience establishing or improving quality-control processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, lead workstreams, and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex data clearly to executive and field audiences.
  • Data Base Management experience and coding preferred.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approached.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Business, Analytics, or related field preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in sales analytics, commercial operations, field operations, incentive compensation, or business analytics—ideally within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting sales reporting, incentive compensation, territory alignment, targeting, and field performance analytics processes.
  • Experience working with commercial data sources, CRM platforms, third-party data vendors, and reporting tools that support field performance analysis and commercial decision-making.

  • Manager: $102,000 - $142,000
  • Senior Manager: $136,000 - $188,000
