Job Purpose

The Revenue Cycle Content Specialist will work closely with both Med-Metrix internal staff and external customers to assess, document, design and deploy implementation processes across revenue cycle services. Strong candidates will be able to support the project manager and operations team in creating standard operating procedures and implementation playbooks to support new client implementations and documentation of existing internal processes. Candidates should be able to lead client discovery sessions, influence cross-functional teams and should hold a thorough understanding of revenue cycle processes across billing, follow-up, denials, cash posting and customer service in the Professional Revenue Cycle environment. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads client discovery sessions to document existing revenue cycle processes and collaborates with operational leaders to develop detailed standard operating procedures
  • Support new client implementations by documenting existing client processes for all areas of revenue cycle and translating documentation into implementation playbooks for hand-off to operations at go-live
  • Provide support to internal operations on strategic initiatives in documenting process optimizations
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements
  • Escalate and communicate priorities, successes, and project risks to Project Management, Leadership and client counterparts
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
  • Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties

Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years Operational or Implementation experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle preferred
  • Experience with Patient Accounting and/or Patient Access provider settings preferred
  • Experience working in an implementation or operational setting, preferably in a professional billing revenue cycle setting.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Visio
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Strong business writing skills with a demonstrated ability to drill down to the key points in a complex problem and clearly articulate the next steps
  • Ability to work well individually and in a rapidly changing environment
  • Energetic with strong desire to learn
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and outside of normal business hours as needed
  • Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes.
