About the role

We are seeking a skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer聽to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions in the cloud. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with GCP data services, strong ETL/ELT development skills, and a solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing and performance optimization.
聽
In this role, you will:
- Develop ETL/ELT processes聽to extract data from various sources, transform it, and load it into BigQuery聽or other target systems.
- Build and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lakes聽for analytics and reporting.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines聽on GCP using tools such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, cloud run, Python and linux scripting.
- Optimize BigQuery queries, manage partitioning and clustering, and handle cost optimization.
- Integrate data from on-premise and cloud systems using Cloud Storage, and APIs.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to automate deployments using Terraform, Cloud Build, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure security and compliance聽by applying IAM roles, encryption, and network controls.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and application teams聽to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Implement best practices聽for data quality, monitoring, and governance.

What you need to have to be considered
聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree聽in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum 8 years聽of experience in data engineering, preferably in a cloud environment.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum 3 years聽of hands-on and strong expertise in GCP services:
o聽聽 BigQuery, Cloud storage, Cloud run, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Cloud Balancer, PubSub, IAM, Logging and Monitoring.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in SQL, Python and Linux scripting.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prior experience with ETL tools聽such as Datastage, Informatica, SSIS
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Familiarity with data modeling (star/snowflake)聽and data warehouse concepts.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Effective communication and collaboration skills.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work in an agile and fast-paced environment.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 GCP Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification is a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Application will be accepted until February 28, 2026
The annual salary for this position is between $130,000- $150,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant鈥檚 discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant鈥檚 applicable plans.
