Duties: Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Collects and empties trash. Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms. Cleans, disinfects hard surfaces, polishes furniture and fixtures. Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. Dusts furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. Shampoos carpets, and strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors. Cleans and restores building interior damaged by fire, wind, hurricane, high water, sewer overflow, smoke, or water using commercial cleaning equipment. Drives vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans and trucks. Demonstrates a willingness to work beyond scheduled work hours when needed. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power. Properly maintains equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized condition. Clears debris from ground. Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisitions supplies for stock. Changes lightbulbs in buildings as needed. Additional duties at request of supervisor. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.

Qualifications: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 90 lbs. up and down stairs and be able to ascend and descend ladders. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license. PREFERRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
