Job Overview

The Technician I, X-Ray/Medical Assistant assists in the provision of direct patient care by arranging patients for radiological examinations. The Technician produces radiographs (X-rays) to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. The Technician prevents patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. In addition, the Technician performs routine medical assistance procedures such as administering intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections and performing skin tests, venipunctures, and skin punctures for blood specimens.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited radiology program is required.

• Limited Permit in X-ray Technology required. 

• A Medical Assistant certificate is required.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred. 

• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.

• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
