Summary/Objective:

 

The CNC Plasma Operator is part of the production team and will be responsible for communications with all fabrication facilities & engineering regarding timing and quality of parts. This role is high-demand, fast-paced, and requires daily problem-solving skills. Ideal candidate should have intricate problem-solving skills and be able to adapt to new situations and designs regularly. This position is for an on-site role at our Bayport manufacturing facility.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:   

  • Read and understand engineering drawings
  • Upload DXF files and create nests when appropriate
  • Maintain machine cleanliness, which includes cleaning out baskets as needed
  • Work diligently and precisely under a fast-paced environment
  • Machine set-up and tool changes
  • Unload plate from trucks and managing safe plate storage
  • Load and unload plate on/off table using overhead crane
  • Quality control check parts after cutting
  • Stamp parts with heat numbers
  • Deburr and make ready parts for next step in process
  • Assist in other areas of shop when workload is low
  • Utilize basic math skills and layout skills daily
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance with the ability to work overtime and weekends
  • Willingness to take direction from supervisory and lead personnel
  • Adhere to quality procedures and demonstrate a strong safety culture 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:  

  • Technologically savvy individual with ability to learn new software quickly
  • High-School Degree or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to understand, speak, and write English
  • Knowledge of On-Line leak repair manufacturing is a plus
  • Must be willing and able to work the hours of 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within a day and flexibility to adjust priority of each
  • Maintain regular attendance, with the expectation of scheduled PTO
