The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician.

Major Responsibilities
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Assist doctors with charting
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Chart auditing, CPT and ICD-9 review
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Venipunctures, EKG's, Vital Signs, Blood draws, and Injections
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Prep patients for examination and treatment, and assist during minor office procedures
ļĀ Ā Ā Ā Prepare exam and treatment rooms (instrument preparation and sterilization, prescription refills, faxing, and filing)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā Medical Assistant experience
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā CPT I certification
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections.
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā Neat and professional appearance
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā Effective written and verbal communication skills
ļ¶Ā Ā Ā Ā Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant
Working Conditions
Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
