Responsible for analyzing and sizing the structural hardware per prescribed loading environment and material properties, and generating the structural (strength and stability) margins. Other responsibilities include making configuration and design recommendations to optimize the load path and thus achieving a more efficient design.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or civil Engineering.
  • Wide-ranging experience in structural analyses techniques including classical hand analyses and Finite Element analysis utilizing both coarse system load and detail stress FE models.
  • Working knowledge of FEA codes (MSC/NASTRAN or NX/NASTRAN) and pre & post processing tools (FEMAP).
  • Knowledge of metallic and composite structures, as well as bonded joint, and bolted joint analyses.
  • Knowledge of structural failure mechanisms including material failure in metals and composites, instability of structural elements, and Fatigue.
