About the Position
The Adjunct Faculty positions in Environmental Science, Biology, and Nutrition Science play pivotal roles in preparing students for careers in Education, Social Work, Community Psychology, and Human Development. Faculty members will teach courses in Environmental Science, Biology, and Nutrition, emphasizing ecological sustainability, biological sciences, and nutritional health. This involves guiding students through critical theories and practical applications, encouraging inquiry, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate interactive, high-quality online courses within the Education, Social Work, Community Psychology, and Human Development programs using the Canvas Learning Management System.
- Maintain an active and supportive presence in the online classroom, including responding to student inquiries within 24–48 hours.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments and submit grades in accordance with established deadlines.
- Engage students through meaningful dialogue, reflective practices, and collaborative learning approaches that support academic success.
- Identify students who may be at risk academically and refer them to appropriate institutional support services.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues to review, refine, and enhance course content in alignment with program goals and academic standards.
- Complete required faculty onboarding, adjunct training modules, and participate in scheduled adjunct and all-faculty meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- Relevant professional experience in Environmental Science, Biology, or Nutrition.
- Familiarity with andragogy and adult learning theory.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Commitment to supporting the mission of the institution.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Environmental Science, Biology, Nutrition, or a related field.
Publications, presentations, and research in relevant fields.
Certification in public health, dietetics, or environmental health.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in an online format using a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas).

Anticipated Salary
$25.00 to $28.00 per hour
