About the Role:

The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial and operational functioning of a hotel during overnight hours. This position is responsible for accurately reconciling daily financial transactions, auditing guest accounts, and preparing detailed reports that support management decision-making. The Night Auditor also provides exceptional guest service during the night shift, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction. By combining accounting expertise with customer service skills, the Night Auditor helps maintain the integrity of the hotel's financial records and supports overall operational efficiency. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently during overnight hours while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) or similar software.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in accounting, hospitality management, or related field.
  • Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency with advanced accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile daily revenue and prepare detailed financial reports for management review.
  • Verify and balance cash drawers, credit card transactions, and other payment methods.
  • Provide front desk services during overnight hours, including guest check-in and check-out, handling reservations, and responding to guest inquiries or concerns.
  • Monitor hotel security and safety protocols during the night shift and report any irregularities or incidents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth handover to the day shift.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial and guest information.
