What You'll Do

You will provide field human resource support by assisting management with policy interpretation and HR procedures, facilitating recruitment and onboarding processes, and serving as the local HR contact for implementing corporate initiatives. You will advise management on performance management, conduct internal investigations, facilitate training, and support employee development plans. Travel is required for 50% or more of the role.

Essential Functions

  • Assist management with interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and company policies, and provide guidance on HR procedures and programs.
  • Facilitate recruitment, pre-employment, and onboarding processes in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Serve as the local HR contact for communication and implementation of corporate initiatives, ensuring effective communication of company policies.
  • Evaluate and facilitate continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.
  • Advise management on coaching, counseling, and performance management, and conduct internal investigations as needed.
  • Support management in developing performance improvement and employee development plans, and facilitate training on company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with senior management, outside vendors, and government offices to obtain and provide HR-related information and process changes in the HR database system.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • Minimum 3 years of experience required as a Human Resources professional or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration required.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs, conducting training sessions, managing recruitment processes, overseeing safety compliance, and handling worker's compensation claims.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft formal legal responses and communicate HR policies effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll administrative systems.

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and follow established work rules.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Experience working with labor groups and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Familiarity with employment laws including DOL, FLSA, ADA, and EEOC.
  • Experience in supply chain distribution and warehousing.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
  • Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others verbally and/or in writing.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
