How you’ll contribute 

A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:

  • Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Performs bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered.

  • Delivers and evaluates patient response to therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition appropriately.

  • Responds to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance. Provides rapid assessment and appropriate intervention.

  • Educates patients and families about illness management and community resources.

  • Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.

  • Stocks and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas with required levels and equipment.

  • Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment.

  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for 

Education: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.

License: Certifications: Current CRT or RRT license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
