Passionately in pursuit of the perfect beer… and never satisfied.    Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the campus facilities and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. This is a versatile, all-around role that blends general building maintenance (including electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting), construction/renovation projects, and ongoing facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a broad skill set in multiple trades and a commitment to keeping the campus clean and functional. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on campus facilities, including basic plumbing, hardware repairs, and mechanical systems. Perform intermediate electrical work, such as replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, and breakers, as well as basic circuit troubleshooting. Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment (e.g., cleaning condenser coils, checking temperature logs, replacing filters, clearing drain lines). Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to determine if they can be fixed in-house or require escalation to specialized outside contractors. Respond to and complete daily maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner. Perform framing (wood and metal) and structural repair work. Install, repair, and finish drywall, including taping and texturing. Complete painting, tile setting, concrete finishing, and basic sheet metal installation as required for campus improvement projects. Safely execute the demolition of small structures or interior spaces for remodeling. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus grounds, walkways, and parking areas. Perform exterior cleaning tasks, including pressure washing, debris removal, and trash collection. Ensure all personal work areas and active project sites are thoroughly cleaned and secured at the end of each shift. Utilize mobile apps or computer systems to receive work orders, track progress, and log completed tasks. Strictly adhere to all OSHA and company safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Other duties as assigned   Qualifications  Qualifications:  Education level/Experience level: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5–7 years of proven experience in facilities maintenance, commercial construction, or property management. A broad understanding of basic trade skills (carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration principles) is essential. Basic digital literacy required. Must be able to use smartphones, tablets, or computers to manage digital work orders and review timecards. Licenses: A valid state Driver’s License with a clean driving record is highly preferred. Ability to use equipment and machinery in a professional manner not limited to; Diagnostic Tools: Multimeters, voltage testers, temperature gauges, and circuit tracers. Hand & Power Tools: Saws, drills, grinders, nail guns, hammers, wrenches, wire strippers, etc. Grounds Equipment: Pressure washers, blowers, and general landscaping hand tools. Other: Painting supplies, drywall tools, ladders, and safety gear. Lifting: Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, or move up to 55 pounds independently, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Other Skills and Abilities:    Mathematical Skills: Ability to complete simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) accurately for measuring materials and calculating basic voltage/amperage limits. Language Skills: Strong ability to listen, understand, and take direction. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, electrical diagrams/schematics, operating instructions, and work orders. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions  Excellent common-sense problem-solving skills. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and troubleshoot issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Work Environment: Requires working both indoors and outdoors across nearly every type of facility on the company’s premises. Routine exposure to varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions. Potential exposure to dust, loud noises, live electrical circuits, and standard construction hazards (mitigated by mandatory PPE and safety protocols).
