Allied Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced Overnight Lead Veterinary Technician to help lead our growing Emergency & Critical Care team at our Orange Park hospital.
This position is ideal for a highly skilled veterinary technician who thrives in emergency medicine, enjoys mentoring others, and is passionate about maintaining exceptional patient care while coordinating the overnight medical workflow.
What You'll Do
- Provide exceptional emergency and critical care nursing.
- Coordinate and manage the overnight medical flow to ensure efficient patient care.
- Lead, mentor, and support the overnight technician team.
- Partner closely with our ER veterinarians to maintain outstanding communication and workflow.
- Help foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused culture.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and compassionate patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of veterinary technician experience (Emergency/Critical Care experience strongly preferred).
- Previous leadership, charge technician, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and lead effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment.
- Passion for developing teammates while delivering exceptional patient care.
Schedule
Full-Time Overnight Leadership Schedule
Our Overnight Lead Technician schedule is designed to provide balanced overnight coverage while supporting a healthy work-life balance. Team members work a rotating overnight leadership schedule that is shared among the leadership team, including rotating weekends and holidays, to ensure outstanding patient care while promoting long-term sustainability for our leaders.
Specific schedules will be reviewed during the interview process based on hospital needs and leadership coverage.
