Job Description

In the heart of Central Ohio, Illuminate USA is transforming solar panel manufacturing from our cutting-edge facility in Pataskala. As a new standalone joint venture established by two global leaders in renewable energy, we’ve rapidly grown to over 1,500 associates and are now fully operational in our 1.1 million-square-foot factory. Our vision is to establish one of the largest solar panel manufacturing operations in the Western Hemisphere.

The Procurement Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the procurement function, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. This role focuses on operational purchasing, process optimization, team leadership, and driving operational excellence across all procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Manage and lead the procurement operations team to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchasing activities.

  • Develop and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Process Optimization:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.

  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives within procurement systems.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to procurement activities.

Data & Reporting:

  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational bottlenecks.

  • Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with finance, operations, and sourcing teams to align procurement operations with business objectives.

  • Support strategic initiatives such as cost reduction programs and sustainability goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 7+ years in procurement or supply chain, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong background in procurement operations and process improvement.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with global procurement operations.

  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Experience with procurement analytics and cost modeling.

  • Knowledge of sourcing strategies and supplier management.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, PMP, CIPS) are a plus.

  • Solar industry experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work onsite in an office environment on a daily basis

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (office materials, supplies, etc.)

  • Ability to walk between manufacturing and administrative areas as needed

  • Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, phone, copier, etc.)
