Passaic County Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Human Services Department who will teach a variety of courses within the assigned discipline, advise students, serve on committees, and, overall, contribute to advancing the college’s educational mission. This position reports through a peer department chairperson to the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.
Examples of Duties
- Provide holistic academic advising, including program selection, course planning, career and transfer guidance.
- Manage a student caseload using a Proactive Caseload Management model.
- Conduct regular outreach to support student progress and connection to services.
- Stay current on curricular updates through collaborations with faculty and departments.
- Teach a College Success course.
- Coordinate advising practices with advisors at alternate locations and cohort groups.
- Collaborate with the Center for Student Success to ensure alignment.
- Participate in required training and professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Master's of Social Work required.
- Five (5) years of higher education experience required.
- Ability to work with a diverse population and manage high student volume.
- Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
