Examples of Duties:
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Nurse Education Program
- Select, supervise, and evaluate student learning experiences
- Lecture on courses and instruct students in the clinical area that are within specialty
- Provide students with consistent and effective support and guidance for retention and success
- Assist with the development of course materials
- Serve on policy making committees of the institution and the Nurse Education Program
- Communicate and interpret the objectives for student clinical practice to nursing service personnel
- Participate in the selection of faculty and staff within the Nurse Education Program
- Maintain up-to-date professional competence by participating in on-going clinical practice, continuing education, and professional conferences
- Participate in college and community related activities
- Assist in the orientation of new faculty
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Associate Dean
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in nursing is required, Doctorate preferred
- RN license or eligible – State of New Jersey
- Qualified to teach Pediatrics and/or Maternity nursing
- Certified in area of specialty desirable
- Three years' experience in clinical nursing practice within the specialty appropriate to appointed position
- Collaborates with colleagues and personnel in clinical agencies
- Current knowledge of associate degree nursing and teaching methodologies preferred
- Previous experience in an urban community college setting
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $63,000.
