The Medical Assistant Clinical Skills Laboratory Assistant reports to the Director of the Healthcare Programs and is responsible for the preparation and assistance with college laboratory experience in support of the educational outcomes of the Medical Assistant Program.Â
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Example of Duties:Â
- Communicate professionally with students and faculty.
- Prepare lab equipment set up for clinical skills practice and testing according to course schedule.
- Demonstrate correct performance of clinical skills based on competency records.
- Supervise students’ clinical skills practice to ensure performance is correct.
- Guide students in proper use of technology for practicing administrative skills.
- Assist with inventory of consumable laboratory supplied to maintain adequate stock.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and notify faculty of items requiring repair.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Â
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Must hold certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience working as a certified Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
- Associates degree in related field, preferred.
- Teaching experience a plus but not required.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $16-$20.Â
