 Job Description

 

Position Title: Soft Count Associate

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Soft Count Supervisor

 

FLSA Designation: Non-exempt

 

SUMMARY:  Balances money banks and drop boxes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Counts and confirms gaming and related items as needed.
  • Removes and replaces drop boxes from machines.
  • Involved in sorting and counting contents of drop boxes. 
  • Works with cage staff to verify counts.
  • Enters count information into computer system.
  • Assures protection of casino assets.
  • Reports any suspicious activity to supervisor.
  • Maintains consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor or administrator.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   None.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or general educational degree (GED) and at least two (2) years general office work, banking and/or training required.   Basic computer skills to include a working knowledge of word processing and databases required.  Accounting background preferred.  

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:   None.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before employees, patrons, management, and directors.  

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:  Ability to maintain drop and cash confidentiality.  Must maintain professional behavior and possess exceptional customer and employee service skills at all times.
