The Assembly Mechanic I is a professional responsible for assembling complex mechanical systems and supporting critical build processes across multiple product lines.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components into sub-assemblies across multiple models in each of their respective product lines
Ensure proper fit of all parts by drilling, grinding, or shimming to adjust to a proper fit
Interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies and recommending design improvements
Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing
Move large parts and machines around manufacturing floor using forklift or overhead crane
Proven ability to lead tasks or projects and mentor less experienced team members

Required Qualifications

1 year+ of experience in assembly and manufacturing environment
Ability to operate equipment, troubleshoot, and problem solve
Organized with a strong attention to detail with a dedication to quality and safety
Ability to frequently stand, bend, and reach
Ability to lift, pull up, or push up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

Technical school training, apprenticeship, or relevant industry certification in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience)
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in wastewater, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery manufacturing
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
