GENERAL SUMMARY
The position of Painter is responsible for proper application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces of all products manufactured.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Measure areas to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
• Identify and prepare requisitions for appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
• Prepare surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
• Maks, remove, cover, or otherwise protects equipment, hardware, trim, and other non-painted surfaces.
• Apply paint to interior and exterior surfaces using paint booth, airless paint system sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
• Comply with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with two or more years of experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and training. Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or previous experience is desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
