Position Summary 

 This position is the subject matter expert for all areas of the facility. Supervise and coordinate the activities of hourly skilled electrical technicians and salaried automation and controls engineers.   

  

Essential Functions/Key Deliverables 

  • Develop and maintain a constant safety environment and provide necessary training updates while striving for zero incidents and full compliance with OSHA and Plant standards. 

  • Develop and manage annual operating plans/budgets for the electrical maintenance and automation department.   

  • Execute all electrical preventative maintenance, implement process controls, and define projects to drive plant KPIs and continuous improvement.  

  • Organize and coordinate the maintenance breakdowns of all equipment within assigned responsibility including maintaining a necessary inventory of spare parts. 

  • Hire, coach, review, promote, automation engineers and electrical technicians.  

  • Provide regular training of personnel as needed to maintain new and existing equipment and ensure good GMP Principles are followed. 

  • Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities. 

  

Knowledge/Skills/Experience: 

  • Associate degree, trade school or significant experience in a related/similar field  

  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills and ability to work through complex problems 

  • Strong communication and leadership skills – successful supervision in a manufacturing environment 

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Programming, Robotics, and advanced automation  

  • Experience with plant network and communication systems. 

  • Experience managing high voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems 

  • Must have basic skills with Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
