About the RoleÂ
The Business Development Representative is an early-career, non-exempt sales role responsible for pipeline development, lead qualification, and early-stage client engagement. Operating under general guidance from the Sales Manager and in close coordination with Account Executives, this role supports Claim.MD’s sales pipeline by evaluating lead potential, conducting initial discovery, preparing and delivering product demonstrations, and recommending next-step actions that align with organizational sales strategy.
The Business Development Representative role is designed to strengthen conversion quality and sales process efficiency by ensuring that opportunities entering the pipeline are appropriately qualified, informed, and prepared for advanced consultative engagement. While the Business Development Representative applies analytical and consultative judgment, the role does not own deal governance, pricing authority, contract negotiation, or final sales decisions.
This position plays a critical role in delivering informed, compliant, and timely engagement to prospective clients, supporting Claim.MD’s mission to improve healthcare data accuracy and client experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Â
The following duties are considered essential to the successful performance of this position. These tasks are central to supporting Claim.MD’s users, maintaining compliance, and ensuring operational continuity.Â
- Pipeline Development and Lead Qualification
- Conduct outbound and inbound outreach to prospective clients using established messaging and engagement strategies.
- Evaluate lead quality through structured discovery conversations to assess basic fit, readiness, and interest.
- Apply defined qualification criteria to determine whether opportunities should advance, be nurtured, or be disqualified.
- Document discovery findings, risks, and next-step recommendations clearly and accurately in CRM.
- Early-Stage Client Engagement and Demonstrations
- Prepare and deliver introductory product demonstrations aligned to defined demo standards and client needs.
- Answer general product, workflow, and service questions within approved knowledge scope; escalate complex or non-standard inquiries.
- Support prospective clients in understanding Claim.MD’s value proposition, implementation considerations, and onboarding expectations.
- Sales Process Support and Handoff Readiness
- Prepare qualified opportunities for handoff to Account Executives by ensuring required information, documentation, and readiness indicators are complete.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to support smooth transitions from early engagement to advanced consultative stages.
- Identify and flag potential risks, misalignment, or data gaps prior to escalation.
- Data Integrity and Operational Discipline
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete CRM records for all assigned activities and interactions.
- Follow established workflows, documentation standards, and activity tracking requirements.
- Support sales reporting accuracy by ensuring early-stage pipeline data reflects reality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Learning
- Coordinate with Marketing, Sales Operations, and Sales leadership to improve lead quality and messaging effectiveness.
- Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and skill development to strengthen consultative capability and product knowledge.
- Contribute observations and insights regarding lead quality, objections, and engagement patterns to support continuous improvement.
- Compliance, Confidentiality, and Professional Conduct
- Maintain working knowledge of Claim.MD policies, healthcare data sensitivity, and compliance expectations relevant to early sales engagement.
- Uphold confidentiality, data protection, and ethical communication standards in all prospect interactions.

Required Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:Â
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, customer engagement, business development, or a related role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct structured discovery conversations
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess basic fit and readiness using defined criteria
- High attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices
- Comfort operating in a remote, fast-paced environment with clear activity tracking requirements
- Exposure to SaaS, healthcare technology, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales engagement platforms
Preferred Skills and Competencies:Â
- Interest in developing a long-term career in consultative sales or account management
- Spanish fluency or bilingual proficiency
Work Environment and Expectations:

This is a fully remote position working Monday-Friday.Â
- Standard working hours align with Mountain Time or Pacific Time with flexibility for personal needs and collaboration across multiple time zones.Â
- Employees are expected to work from a quiet, dedicated and secure home workspace (mobile or on-the-go work is not supported for this role).Â
- Company-issued desktop equipment will be provided.
- Employees must be able to sit and use a computer and phone for extended periods.Â
