Position Summary:
The Server is responsible for providing exceptional table-side service in a professional and engaging manner. This role ensures guests enjoy a seamless dining experience through attentive service, menu knowledge, and thoughtful recommendations. The Server creates memorable experiences by anticipating guest needs, maintaining service standards, and contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Team members are expected to embody Meyer Jabara Hotels' J Quality Behaviors: Joy, Jump, Join, by demonstrating passion for hospitality, proactive service, and collaboration in every guest and colleague interaction.
Service Duties
- Provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service to all guests
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
- Deliver food and beverages promptly and ensure quality and presentation standards
- Describe menu items, specials, and make personalized recommendations
- Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs throughout the dining experience
- Complete opening and closing side work duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Experience & Education:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with POS systems preferred
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 lbs
- Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly during service
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
