Job Summary: The Facilities/HVAC Technician is responsible for ensuring safe, clean and attractive buildings, both inside and outside throughout Nemont’s service area. Buildings may include general offices as well as equipment offices, e.g., central switching offices.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- The Facilities/HVAC Technician will have responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete any associated maintenance records.
- Perform minor construction work on company property. Operate power equipment used in maintaining building. See that equipment is properly used and in good working order and that any required repairs are promptly reported.
- Operate fork lift and/or tractor with loader.
- Maintain the grounds, which will include, but is not limited to, mowing, weed-eating, etc.
- Complete necessary paperwork as required.
Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned.
- Report all problems to supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires skills in HVAC, basic electricity, carpentry, internal and external painting, operation of tractor with loader and forklift, and minor roof repair.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the state where employee is resident and be insurable without an increased premium or special risk coverage under the company’s motor vehicle liability insurance company’s underwriting standards.
- Able to work in a team environment and interface with other departments in a positive/productive manner.
Education/Experience
- Minimum five years HVAC preferred.
- Minimum two years experience in general maintenance work.
Physical Demands
- Physical exertion may be light to heavy.
- Climbs, stoops, reaches, handles, lifts.
- May occasionally be required to lift up to 80 pounds.
- May be called upon to work in any kind of weather.
Special Demands
- Will require evenings and/or weekend duty, to include overnight stays.
- Will require overtime pay and call outs on emergency situations.
- Can require a good deal of travel to distant buildings, can include overnight stays.
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Operate under standard procedures, including company safety standards.
- Hours scheduled: 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday
