About the Role:
Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of Birmingham is looking for a skilled and motivated Shop Technician to join our team in Pelham, AL. This is a hands-on role where you'll be at the heart of our operation, restoring and repairing alloy wheels to like-new condition. If you take pride in craftsmanship and love working with your hands, this is the opportunity for you!


Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, repair, and refinish alloy wheels to manufacturer and customer specifications
  • Perform wheel straightening, welding, and structural repairs as needed
  • Sand, prep, and apply coatings or paint finishes to damaged wheels
  • Operate shop equipment including lathes, grinders, and powder coating tools
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Communicate with team leads regarding job status, timelines, and quality control
  • Conduct quality inspections on completed work before returning wheels to customers
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in auto body, wheel repair, powder coating, or a related trade preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery safely
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Basic knowledge of automotive wheels, tires, and finishes is a plus
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team-oriented work ethic
  • High school diploma or GED required
