POSITION SUMMARY
The Reconstruction Project Manager is the front-line sales and scoping representative for SERVPRO
reconstruction opportunities. This role takes qualified opportunities after mitigation handoff,
responds to property losses, documents conditions, develops the reconstruction scope, and works
directly with homeowners and adjusters to move work from opportunity to signed job. The role is
responsible for converting opportunities, establishing clear expectations, and managing scope
revisions, supplements, and estimate changes through final invoicing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
ā Receive reconstruction opportunities after mitigation handoff and prioritize assigned leads
based on urgency, service level requirements, and conversion potential.
ā Respond to residential and light commercial losses, including rotating on-call responsibility for
after-hours opportunities when assigned.
ā Act as the front-line sales representative for the reconstruction team on losses ranging from
small repairs to large-loss opportunities.
ā Perform site inspections to assess damage, identify the work required to restore the property to
pre-loss condition, and gather the documentation needed to support the scope of work.
ā Capture complete field documentation, including photos, measurements, moisture or
environmental notes, 3D scans or DocuSketch documentation, sketches or floor plans, scope
notes, code or like-kind considerations, contents or pack-out flags, and any asbestos, lead, or
safety concerns.
ā Provide detailed scope information to the estimating team and review the resulting estimate
for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with carrier requirements before submission.
ā Communicate directly with homeowners and insurance adjusters to explain the SERVPRO
reconstruction process, set expectations, obtain approvals, and keep the opportunity moving.
ā Walk the customer through the approved insurance scope and clearly document exclusions,
upgrades, customer responsibility items, and out-of-pocket costs.
ā Obtain signed contracts, authorizations, and other required job-start documents in accordance
with company policy.
ā Discuss deductible obligations, payment terms, and customer-approved upgrades before
handoff to production.
ā Own all scope changes, supplements, and estimate revisions from sale through final invoicing,
coordinating with production when field conditions require additions or changes.
ā Determine when an assigned lead is not a fit for the business and either decline or escalate it in
accordance with company standards.
ROLE BOUNDARIES
ā This role owns the customer, adjuster, scope, and estimate side of the reconstruction process.
ā Daily production execution, scheduling, subcontractor management, materials coordination,
workmanship oversight, punch-list management, and final completion are owned by the
Superintendent.
ā The Reconstruction Project Manager re-engages after handoff when revised scope,
supplements, concealed damage, carrier changes, or customer-approved additions require
estimate updates or approval support.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
ā Strong construction background with the ability to speak credibly about building trades, repair
methods, and restoration scope.
ā Insurance restoration experience with the ability to assess a loss and scope work back to pre-
loss condition.
ā Ability to read and interpret Xactimate scopes of work; prior estimating exposure is required.
ā Experience with DocuSketch, Matterport, or comparable 3D documentation tools.
ā Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with homeowners, adjusters, and
internal team members.
ā Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
ā Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, in crawlspaces, and in damaged or partially demolished
environments.
ā Physically able to lift, climb, inspect, and document job sites as needed.
TOOLS AND SYSTEMS
ā Xactimate and carrier-facing estimate documentation workflows
ā DocuSketch or equivalent 3D documentation platforms
ā Gmail, phone, text, and standard Microsoft Excel or spreadsheet tools
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
ā Drive revenue conversion by closing qualified reconstruction opportunities.
ā Protect margin by building accurate scopes, identifying supplements, and supporting complete
estimate approval.
ā Respond promptly and work within carrier service level expectations and internal deadlines.
ā Maintain strong customer communication and complete, defensible documentation throughout
the life of the estimate and supplement process.
COMPENSATION
