PURPOSE OF POSITION

Coordinate purchase of items and supplies to enable all facilities to manufacture orders on time. Assist with the scheduling and expediting of items and supplies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Obtain and provide quotes and delivery dates, in a timely manner, to Sales, Engineering, Estimating, Manufacturing, and other departments.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels to ensure adequate availability to meet production requirements while meeting company overall stock level expectations and inventory movement. 
  • Order supplies for manufacturing, maintenance, building & ground, and office as needed. 
  • Regularly and consistently communicate with managers and Supply Chain team.
  • Enter Purchase Orders (PO’s) into the system to order items and supplies.
  • Attach confirmations to Purchase Orders (PO’s).
  • Post packing slips into the system.
  • Issue Manufacturing Orders (MO’s) from the system when necessary.
  • Follow up on late Purchase Orders (PO’s) and communicate to managers of affected facilities.
  • Expedite Purchase Orders (PO’s) and deliveries as necessary.
  • Assist with physical inventories at any facility as needed.
  • Obtain and disperse material certification as needed.
  • Create new item numbers in the system as needed.
  • Update and maintain inventory and item master data for items. Including but not limited to reorder points, safety stock, minimum and economic order quantities, lead times, stock units of measure, purchasing unit of measure, purchase prices, and item descriptions. 
  • Maintain company fleet vehicles. Including scheduling of maintenance, cleaning, and other items as needed.
  • Up to 10% overnight domestic travel may be required. 
  • Perform additional assignments within Supply Chain and other areas within the company.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Or high school diploma;
  • Or general education degree (GED); plus 1 to 5 years related experience and/or training


TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES 

  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually LOW to MODERATE.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and flammable materials.
  • Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required in production areas and when posted.
