We are seeking a driven and experienced Manager Logistics to join our dynamic team in Pelzer, SC, supporting Vertiv’s rapidly expanding operations. This is a critical leadership role within our manufacturing facility, focused on driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Category Manager is responsible for optimizing freight and warehousing cost with respect to long term Vertiv EDITDA goals.  The Logistics Category Manager will lead a team of three people in the Americas Region and will collaborate with global counterparts. The Logistics Category Manager will manage the Logistics Category as an owner.  This will involve working closely with value stream partners to improve freight and warehousing cost.  Done well, this work will reduce the friction felt by customers and make Vertiv “easier to do business with”. Â
RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Work closely with the Operations Teams, and Trade Compliance in the strategic sourcing of logistics services Â
- Deliver Category Strategies with 3–5-year time horizons for each transportation mode, warehousing, and trade complianceÂ
- Manage the freight quote process, working with salespersons to ensure that all appropriate orders have freight quotes applied at the right time Â
- Work with Transportation Management Team to maintain accurate rates Â
- Identify problems, opportunities, and outliers. Take root cause corrective action Â
- Demonstrate improvement in freight cost Â
- Solve process problems, and establish a “help chain” for logistics problem escalations Â
- Integrate the process with the Vertiv Business Operating System 
- Manage the supply base to ensure business continuity, performance, and best price Â

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:Â
- BA or BS; Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar field of studyÂ
- 7-10 years of experienceÂ
- Experience leading or managing a teamÂ
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalÂ
- Excellent customer service skillsÂ
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Detail-orientedÂ
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Proficient in MS OfficeÂ

- Developmental goals in line with succession to the Director level and beyond Â
- Ability to work within a matrix management environment Â
- Work with minimal supervision  Â
- Proven track record of operational execution  Â
- Working knowledge and proven application of the principles and philosophies of Six Sigma Â
- Ability to understand customer / client issues and creatively apply solutions to real-world issues with world-class results Â
- Project Management Skills - Ability to organize and schedule people and tasks; Use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans; manage multiple projects Â
- Execution orientated, with a strong sense of urgency around tangible results Â
Strategic Sourcing experience - Six Sigma Green Belt preferredÂ
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- BA or BS; Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar field of studyÂ
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferredÂ
