Summary:
Directs the infection control activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the departments and organization. Ensures the implementation of the Infection Control Plan, working collaboratively with staff, physicians, and patients. Responsible for oversight of the wound care team.Responsibilities:
Leads departmental financial planning/budget to ensure cost-effective operations and maximize profitability.
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Monitors and evaluates the MHS Infection Control Plan to ensure compliance with established professional , regulatory, and organizational standards/requirements.
Collaborates with A-Team, Department Leaders, and Medical Staff to determine organizational priorities and goals as they relate to Infection Control Prevention.
Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide infection control processes, support the delivery of infection control prevention strategies, and ensures a culture of safety, quality, satisfaction, and family-centered care.

Complexity of Work: The Manager should possess ability to build and foster positive relationships, lead others, and create compliance when implementing infection prevention and control programs. Requires mastery of standardized definitions for healthcare associated infections, and the ability to utilize evidence-based guidelines and in the absence of any such guidelines, expert opinion under the supervision of the Medical Director and administration. Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary roles across the healthcare system. Required Work Experience: Greater than three (3) years of experience in infection prevention and control required. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Registered/Professional Nursing or Epidemiology or Microbiology program or a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH). Additional Cert/License Info: Florida State licensure required for Registered Nurse (RN) or Clinical Lab Technologist (TN).
