Position Summary The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor oversees warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and logistics for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility. This role leads the warehouse team, ensures inventory accuracy, guarantees timely material availability for production, and coordinates domestic/international transportation. Requires a strong background in mechanical/electrical components and hands-on experience using NetSuite (or comparable ERP) and a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Operations Management

    • Oversee daily receiving, inspection handoff, put-away, storage, material staging, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.

    • Plan daily assignments based on production schedules, inbound shipments, and delivery needs.

    • Ensure materials are accurately labeled, protected, and delivered on time to production lines.

    • Optimize warehouse layout, material flow paths, and space utilization.

    • Establish SOPs and track team productivity and performance.

  • Inventory Control & Material Management

    • Maintain complete, real-time inventory accuracy across NetSuite and WMS (item numbers, quantities, serial/lot numbers, statuses, locations).

    • Organize cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and root-cause discrepancy investigations.

    • Enforce FIFO, lot/serial control, and material traceability.

    • Manage damaged, obsolete, quarantined, and nonconforming inventory in coordination with Quality.

    • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, and Engineering to resolve material shortages.

  • Shipping, Receiving & Logistics Coordination

    • Coordinate domestic and international inbound/outbound freight (LTL, FTL, air/ocean).

    • Work with carriers and forwarders on bookings, tracking, freight cost monitoring, and issue resolution (delays, damages, claims).

    • Process receiving and shipping records accurately in NetSuite/WMS (BOLs, commercial invoices, packing lists).

  • ERP, WMS & Documentation

    • Execute and supervise all system transactions (receiving, transfers, production issues, adjustments, shipments).

    • Train staff on barcode scanners, ERP, and WMS functionality.

    • Develop work instructions, SOPs, and performance reports (accuracy, shortages, on-time shipments).

  • Safety, Quality & 5S Compliance

    • Maintain OSHA, PPE, material handling, and 5S cleanliness/organization standards.

    • Ensure safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock equipment.

    • Manage hazardous or sensitive materials per safety protocols; support internal and quality audits.

  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Supervise, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff; establish clear work standards.

    • Partner with Production, Planning, Quality, Procurement, and EHS to support target milestones, factory startup, and production ramps.

    • Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives for labor efficiency, material flow, and logistics costs.

Qualifications

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • Associate degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.

  • 7+ years of warehouse/logistics management experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial manufacturing required (BESS, automotive, or battery industry preferred).

  • Hands-on proficiency with NetSuite (or comparable ERP), WMS systems, barcode tools, and MS Excel.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control (FIFO, cycle counting, lot/serial tracking) and domestic/international freight modes.

  • Ability to read BOMs, packing lists, BOLs, commercial invoices, and basic technical drawings.

  • Valid Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain).

  • Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods, wear PPE, and lift up to 50 lbs.
