Position Summary:

The Cook is responsible for preparing and distributing high-quality meals for patients, residents, and non-patient dining services. This position plays an important role in ensuring meals are safe, appealing, and prepared according to established recipes, production schedules, and food safety standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare meals according to recipes, production schedules, and portion guidelines
  • Provide attractive and well-presented meal trays for patients and residents
  • Follow HACCP food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
  • Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, storage, and cooler areas
  • Help ensure food quality while minimizing waste
  • Participate in culinary planning and department meetings
  • Support a positive, team-focused work environment

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of previous cooking experience

Preferred:

  • Previous cooking experience following HACCP standards
  • Two years of culinary education or formal training
  • Experience in healthcare food service or related food service operations

Skills:

  • Ability to read and follow recipes and production instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Team-oriented attitude and dedication to quality service
