Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Clinical Primary Therapist (LMSW or LCSW) for a premier behavioral health provider in Penn Yan, NY.

Located in the heart of the picturesque Finger Lakes region, this role offers a rare blend of high-impact clinical work and an exceptional work-life balance. As a Primary Therapist, you will manage a diverse caseload of clients (ages 5 and up) in an outpatient setting, utilizing evidence-based interventions to promote recovery and illness management. Job Responsibilities

  • Clinical Therapy: Provide individual and group therapy to address a broad spectrum of mental health concerns for clients across the lifespan (ages 5+).
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct detailed clinical evaluations and data gathering to create formulations that serve as the framework for personalized treatment plans.
  • Goal Setting: Collaborate with clients and families to establish measurable goals and identify therapeutic interventions that promote long-term recovery.
  • Crisis Evaluation: Participate in a periodic on-call rotation (a few times per month) to provide critical mental health evaluations in the Emergency Department.
  • Care Coordination: Partner with colleagues across the medical and behavioral health continuum to secure appropriate resources and ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Documentation Excellence: Maintain timely and accurate medical records, ensuring all clinical notes meet regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Healing Environment Advocacy: Exemplify professional behavior that ensures safety, promotes respect, and fosters healthy therapeutic relationships.
Education & Licensing
  • Master’s Degree is REQUIRED (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Art Therapy). PhD is preferred.
  • Active New York State License is REQUIRED (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LCAT).
  • Certifications: BLS (required during orientation) and CPI certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Driver's License: Valid NYS license with a clean driving record.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mental health or hospital setting is REQUIRED. (3+ years preferred).
  • Mandatory Background: Previous experience as a therapist in an outpatient mental/behavioral health setting.
Technical & Soft Skills
  • Strong ability to build rapport with diverse age groups and complex family dynamics.
  • Proficiency in clinical formulation and treatment planning.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced clinic.
