JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, ABMS EM/FM/IM)
  • Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License and DEA with VA address & schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5
  • DEA / CDS: Active DEA and CDS required
  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM); NRP for non-ABEM providers
  • Experience: Residency trained in EM/FM/IM; new graduates within 12 months acceptable; 3-month proctorship required
  • Other Qualifications: Case logs for the last two years; CME/CEU including preeclampsia training; current immunizations and TB test
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED.
  • Supervise and direct mid-level providers (NPs and PAs) as the supervising physician.
  • Work 12-hour shifts in a coverage model that includes 10-hour mid-level support.
  • Manage an average daily volume of approximately 33 patients.
  • Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
