The Senior Court Clerk, under the supervision of the Court Administrator, performs advanced clerical duties related to processing, docketing and disposition in the municipal division within the Missouri State Court System using a court case
management software.
Work involves responsibility for court case processing which may require the application of independent judgment and the application of statutes, policies and regulations, with minimal supervision. Work requires frequent interaction with
the public providing exceptional customer service. Work may also involve financial record keeping within the case management software and provides support for Court Administration and Municipal Judges.

Pay range: $18.42-$23.55 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and
  • Three years’ experience in Municipal Court or related field required
  • Must be bondable
  • As a court professional, you shall avoid any outside employment or business activities, that risks a conflict of interest with your official position, specifically including providing any kind of services to:

• Any member of the bar

• Any law firm or

• Any entity that is a party to any action before the court or which regularly appears before the court. For example, it is improper for a court employee to provide any services to any member of the bar or to investigate any matter or serve any official process or court papers.

* Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of municipal court systems, municipal court procedures, City ordinances, State statutes and Missouri Supreme Court rules
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles of business correspondence, practices of filing and legal file systems and procedures of record keeping
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work within established routines and procedures and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters handled in the course of work
  • Efficient operation of standard office equipment
